Getting tired of paying a barber to cut all my hair off and I don't trust myself with a pair of clippers. I can only imagine walking the streets with a patchwork of unshaven stubble. Does anyone know if consistent use of Nair on the scalp will cause problems? Thanks.

I've had a lot of people reccommend Nair for hair removal in the more "private areas" because they too have had a problem with itchiness from shaving. So I would say that it was safe to use, although I'm pretty sure you are supposed to do a skin test to see if you have a reaction to it. Then, after 24 hours and nothing has happened it will be OK for you to use it. Everybody's skin must react differently to it so it is always best to check. It'll also say on the box whether it is safe to use in those areas. I know that Immac is not safe.

My sister used to be a competitive swimmer and had to shave her arms a lot so decided to use Nair, the 1st time it was okay, the 2nd time it was just a little red and itchy, the 3rd time she used Nair her arms swelled up and had huge red bumps all over her arms, it looked like giant chicken pox and did not go away for like three weeks. It is probally NOT a good idea if you use nair on your head considering that would be even more sensitive skin.

They actually make a cream that men can use its like Nair.. I think its a product for black men who get psuedofaliculits... my husband tried using it on his head but he didnt like it. He uses a womens razor.. the one that has the soap and the Razor all in one. He learned that trick from a fire fighter who regularly shaved his head. My husband has never had a knick, cut or scratch using that razor.. and he shaves himself bald. good luck

I use it down yonder, so it shouldn't be a problem, unless you have sensitive skin. You might want to use the "For Men" line, because it's more gentle....DON'T RUB IT IN! Just spread a layer like mayo on a sandwich.

YYYYUP!
Stick with shaving after the clippers... Use the electric shaver you doubt yourself with a razor.
