Why do want them to have sex only OUT of wedlock? Look, they're going to have sex with each other. Nothing we can do about that, right? We might think it's 'wrong' or 'immoral' or a 'sin', but they're STILL going to have sex with each other. It's their nature. If we let them marry, then at least they won't be committing the sin of having sex out of the bonds of marriage. If we KEEP them from marrying, we COMPOUND their sin of gay sex with the sin of having sex out of wedlock! Isn't one sin better than two? If we can reduce the amount of sin by removing the whole 'out of wedlock' thing from this issue, SHOULDN'T we? I mean otherwise it's like we want them to sin TWICE instead of just once. We can't DO anything about the first sin (gay sex), but we CAN do something about the sin of sex without marriage by allowing them to marry! It seems obvious. Thoughts?

I won't get into the sin thing, since I'm a Humanist and that's a religious concept, but it does seem to me that, if one of the reasons societies promote marriage is to promote stability, then it doesn't make sense to discourage same-sex couples from marrying. Denying gay couples the right to marry is not defending marriage.

I assume that you are a Christian, and this is of some concern to you. It is not your problem. Gay people will always be gay, this their natural born right, and gay people will seek out others who they can share time, and pleasure with. All of the so-called sins will lead to grattification of the self and ultimately fulfilment of the ego. The lie that has been taught to you makes you come off sounding ignorant to happenings in our daily evolution as human animals. WAKE UP! Gay people have rights as humans, just like you have rights as a Christian. You need to ask yourself if this really has any bearing on your life, and most likely I would say that you should go ahead and indulge your need for a homosexual experience.

Your logic is kind of warped. I should condone one sin so that instead of sinners committing two sins, they are now committing only one?

And you seem to forget that that marriage is not sanctioned by God. It may be legally correct (and in some societies, even morally correct if the morality of that society so permits) but definitely not spiritually correct, in the Biblical sense. If God condemns such marriage and sex, who am I to dis-annul part of His law?

In the realm of Christianity, you wouldn't get far with that type of argument : it is better to commit one sin rather than two as it relates to homosexuality. It is still two sins, since the marriage is not Biblically sanctioned!

A NOTE FOR Pangel: A marriage not sanctioned by the Bible is still sin even though that marriage is sanctioned by the state. ( I read your question and the "RESOLVED" answer. Sorry, but the issue is certainly NOT resolved.)

Unmarried heterosexuals are still going to have sex too, and as a result they will not inherit the kingdom. That's what the bible says about fornicators AND homosexuals. "Letting" homosexuals "marry" is like "letting" cows fly. You can give them permission all you want, that isn't going to change reality. Flying lies outside the definition and nature of "cow". Homosexual relationships lie outside the definition and nature of marriage. And even if the state changes its definition of marriage, they can't change the nature or the true definition of marriage.

Marriage is about love. Gay relationships are about sex. You don't have to be married to love someone. Why do they want to be married other than to try to push the idea that it is a perfectly acceptable thing to do when it is disordered.

it's like when some people yell at the tv when they watch sports. It's just a way to vent out their anger.

In God's eyes one sin committed by a person is just as bad as someone as a person committing tons and tons of sin. In God's eyes there is no difference
