Christian fundementalism is Salvation (eternal life) by Grace, it is the gift of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, Atonement for sins & resurrection.
Islamic fundementalism is Islamic law. And salvation is possible if one's good works out weigh their evil works (but no real assurance) or by jihad for the cause of Allah / Islam.
If you look up fundementalism in the dictionary, it is the foundational belief. For Christianity it is Confessing ones self a sinner needing a Savior, Jesus Christ Lord, Son of the living God, Atonement (for sins) & Resurrection (victory over death).
Also foundational for Islamic, is Allah is One with no partners and denies God the Father & the Son.
A true Christian fundementalist would never bomb an abortion clinic. They might picket against abortion & for the rights of the one who can't speak. They will combat abortion through legal means & prayer.

The tenets (beliefs) are different in many ways, but the essential urge, the powerful wish to pound your religion into someone else's head, whether they want it or not, is EXACTLY the same! And anyone who says Christians aren't violent like fundy Muslims is dreaming! The only difference is that many Islamic militants use more primitive weapons, while Christians vote for wars, which use bombs and huge armies to invade countries who won't believe what they do! They're too gutless to go fight it themselves (not that religion should EVER be an excuse for violence!).

It's not quite the same, but there are some denominations of Christianity that do not allow a woman to cut her hair, wear pants (even a young girl in gym class must wear a skirt), work outside home; they literally cannot speak in church or in Bible study (they must sit quietly with their heads bowed).
Granted, these things are not law (nor should they ever be), but that's just one example of extremism in Christianity. There are more...

well, the extremists in each are very similar. fundamentalism in and of itself is not a bad thing. For example, Quakers and the Amish are considered fundamentalists, but they aren't bad. They stick to the 'fundamentals' of their relationship with God. The same way with the Islams. It is when it gets carried to extremes that it turns ugly.

The same? No, every religion is different. But ALL fundamentalists have much in common. Blind, ignorant, arrogance is just one of those things.

Usually, people like Billy Graham, etc. Aren't outwardly saying "Kill so-and-so, God will take you to heaven." A better analogy would be Islamic Fundamentalists is equivalent to the really scary Christians who are also white supremacists, or attempt to blow up abortion clinics, or picket the funerals of homosexuals who were beaten to death.

Great question!
While it's true you'll see the same narrow minded short sightedness and every argument to their faith is a confounding contradiction and always falls back on their faith and never answers why YOU should believe the same way...
the huge difference is...Christian fundamentalists ONLY bomb abortion clinics in an attempt to kill pregnant mothers seeking abortion and health care providers that wish to assist...
- and they never seem to kill themselves in the process
whereas Islamic fundamentalists kill all innocent people as well as themselves - and believe that makes them a Christ like martyr

Umm. no, only in the fact that they both can be called "fundamentalist"
Christians believe in obeying God by showing His love to others, turning the other cheek, helping the sick, needy, and starving, etc.
Muslims believe in obeying Mohammed's command that anyone who won't convert to Islam is to be murdered, as are those who leave Islam.
Do you see any even slight difference in the above?

No, they are very radically different. Christian Fundies believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and Love is supposed to be the #1 goal.
Islamic fundies believe that killing, rape and pillage is OK as long as they don't get caught- and this is what it says in their holy book the Koran
