Because religious freedom doesn't mean much to them.
Freedom of religion, if it is going to apply to everyone, also requires freedom from religion. Why is that? You do not truly have the freedom to practice your religious beliefs if you are also required to adhere to any of the religious beliefs or rules of other religions.
As an obvious example, could we really say that Jews and Muslims would have freedom of religion if they were required to show same respect to images of Jesus that Christians have? Would Christians and Muslims really have freedom of their religion if they were required to wear yarmulkes? Would Christians and Jews have freedom of religion if they were required to adhere to Muslim dietary restrictions?
Forcing people to accept some particular idea or adhere to behavioral standards from someone else’s religion means that their religious freedom is being infringed upon.

Nice question.
It really can come down to the fact that by the commandments in their religion, said things are wrong and they are required to work to try to "fix" them/stop them.
Religious freedom doesn't have anything to do with it, more than the fact that a lot of people believe the same way and they will attempt to do what they are freely permitted by this country to do: protest. Some go too far, granted, but the majority are doing exactly what their "God" tells them to do. Convert and fix so everyone can enter whatever afterlife they believe in.
Myself, I believe that there is a certain point, no matter what made a pregnancy (pigs or people), that a "baby" isn't going to know you're killing it any more than a fertilized chicken egg knows you're cooking it for breakfast. There are just certain things undeveloped before a certain time. Yes... I know this is such a big, deep topic for such a short answer. Suffice to say, I don't believe after 4 months you should be allowed to discontinue a pregnancy unless it is a dire health situation. You know what is going on with your body well before that and if you don't... you should be sterilized anyway. But I digress...
It's what they're told to do, unfortunately. They also tend to ignore the idea of "judge not lest ye be judged", and instead go with the other contradictory information that tells them to save their fellows from the eternity of hellfire. I'm happy at last to have been birthed from such calamity into the light of atheism.

Because they believe it to be of some moral importance. I'm an atheist and I'm prolife. I believe that gay marriage hurts no one, so it's not an issue. I believe that abortion hurts an unborn human and more than half the time causes severe psychological or physical harm to the woman as well. So I feel abortion should be outlawed to protect the baby and the mother.
We outlaw drugs because of the potential harm to self or others, and not for religious reasons.
Don't confuse the abortion debate with a religious debate. It's a moral debate.

Why do people impose their religion of secular humanism that destroys society through abortion and gay marriage?
Any civilization that has sanctioned the death of its own citizens has ceased to exist. There are no exceptions.
Look at Denmark, who has had gay unions for some 20 years. Now, over 60% of their children live in single parent families, and you want to impose this on our society?

I am not sure about enjoyment of them but yes you are entitled to them. If you choose to be gay then by all means do so, that is between you and God and as long as I do not have to watch we're good. As for abortion, there is a lot of gray area in that issue so I also bow out of judgment making on it. I don't judge the person anyway, I simply say (to myself) it is a lifestyle i would not follow as it goes against God. Although, some of my best friends are homosexuals and one set considers themselves married even though they are not. They are both very kind and loving people and if they make each other happy then who am I to condemn them?

actually, abortionists and gays are imposing their beliefs on religious based societies..religious epopel are being falsely accusewd of civil rights violations when they are just trying to practice their faith. Also, immoral behavior should not be imposed on religious people as rights...especially in school systems... where immoral beliefs are pushed onto children without the parents consent.

Because they believe in the Holy Bible. And abortion is murder!! I believe in lthe right of the woman deciding what is good for her own body. She also has the rmight to protect herself from getting pregnant in the first place. But aborting a baby--that is down right murder!!

No one has the right to tell another person how to live because of their beliefs, thats almost like a verbal civil war going on in our country because people do not want people doing things that go against their beliefs which does not make any sense to me because it is not their life, its the other persons life that has the right to make his or her own decisions.

Because what you think is right is what you think is right.
If you have av child, would you not try to bring her/him up believing in what you think is the right way to live? Being neutral is an impossible thing as long as you are a human being. We will always try to influence others no matter if it is in a pub or between countries.

There's a good reason. If Christians sit in their little pews and sing songs and say prayers every Sunday, what good does that do? We are asked to reach out to everyone and spread the Word of God.
WE might be someone's only Bible...it's up to us to share God's love and words. Those things are against God, why shouldn't we want to share that knowledge?
