Some kid told my brother and cousin I could take you down. So they decided to play. When they mean take you down is fight you and take you to the ground. Then the dad of the kid came and choked my brother and threw him to the ground. The kid actually started taking it serious by fighting with my relatives and he never told his dad that it was his fault.

The kids dad had no right to join in. Even accounting for instinct, and that's a lot, an adult cannot attack a child, no way, nowhere.

Hmmm. Where I come from (CA), "take you down" is a death threat. It means you are going into the ground or the hell, but you will be killed in order to do it. Anybody dumb enough to say this deserves what they get. We call that a "CRIMINAL THREAT" in this state. You should call your local PD & talk to someone about this incident. It just sounds like everyone was on the STUPID SIDE & you should let it go & learn how to talk to one another before it escalates into a bigger battle. I would say that no one is in trouble YET, but the Adult could get charged with a crime if they assault a child under the age of 18 in most states. You are leaving too much out. You don't mention who's house it happened at & the ages of the people involved. If you are in fear of your safety, then always call the Police to make a report & keep it on record, in case the problem gets out of hand again.

Like so many others you probably feel as though you're bothering the officers. If that is the case, don't as that is their job. Call them out and fill out the paperwork. Than go sign a warrant or summons, have the BULLY arrested and take care of business. I can't believe you haven't done it already as that would've been the first thing I did.

Yes you should always report things like that I would for sure call the police on the dad who choked your brother and charge him with assault. I hope you have a witness that can verify it that was not involved.

I can't believe you are still waiting!
That dad is a typical idiot who probably believes in encouraging kids to fight off their grudges until they drop. He could be in trouble too for what he did

The adult is always legally wrong when a minor is involved.--ALWAYS. YES, call and report this. Even if it's not something that anyone can do anything about, you should call since an adult hit a minor.

I think I would leave it as a lesson learned, don't fool around fighting,

But you can call the police, but to the parent, he only saw his child in trouble and went to save him

I would say it is just a lesson learned and move on

Just let it go, since it wasn't reported when it should have been. Just stay away from the AHs and report it right away the next time it occurs.
