Someone asked why religion had its own category, while other religions were put in the "mythology" category?! I thought it was a good point, since Christians are allowed to pontificate on and on on this site, yet one logical person suggests that maybe THAT religion is the same as a myth...and it gets deleted?! That is a sickening abuse of power by whomever runs this site. I thought people here were more educated than that.

P.S. There was nothing in the rules that answered this to my satisfaction. We should be allowed to question everything, if it's not abusive!

PPS: If you're going to say "It's not valid", at least explain what you mean? Not valid in what sense? Why not? This is beginning to feel like the Spanish Inquisition...what, we can't question the categorization of Christianity any more? That's called a THEOCRACY! last time I checked, there was separation of Church and State!

There are a few trolls right now on both sides of the arguement (faitful and atheist) who have been randomly picking targets here the last few days, and just randomly reporting them. To be honest, I think Yahoo has an automated system that just deletes on report, rather than a human who looks at the problem (IMO). There are a handful of people pushing them to institute some way to challenge this, but I don't really know if anything will come of it.

I've had responses deleted for no apparent reason in the past. I also have had someone ask about my faith, so I told them. And promptly got a 'thumbs down'. Hmmmm. I guess having a faith different from someone else's is so shocking and horrifying to them, that I was reported a couple of times and am building up an impressive amount of thumbs downs on some responses. Gotta love that kind of enlightenment.

Religion shares its category with Spirituality --- it's not by it's self
And Mythology & Folklore share the same category.

Both are subcategories under the heading of Society and Culture.

Personal contact with others is against the rules here.... I found that out for myself.

I spent 20 minutes composing an answer to that question.
I suspect it was deleted because the question equated mythology with religion, which is a slam against religion, and slams and bashings should not be tolerated. Just duck if you're Catholic though.

I could be wrong, but I think depending on the number of abuse complaints, it may have had a part of the decision even though it may not had been wrong at all. Majority rules possibly.

I agree, one of my other questions got deleted for "contacting a specific person", and this was the question-
Don't you see the circular reasoning, "god is real because the bible says it is real, and the bible is real because god says it is"?

And that question got deleted, I assume not because it was a heinous breaking of the rules, but because it was religious, and that someone running the site took offense, just like that other guy did.

You are right. No one's opinion should be less valuable just because someone has their panties in a bunch over the fact that your opinion differs from theirs. That I thought was what the forum was for....open question and answer. Seems to me if someone is offended by a question it would be simpler to just not answer it and move on to the next one.

This is a hot topic tonight. Apparently certain groups that I will not mention here are sensitive to criticism and report anything they disagree with.
