Is it on the window sill or the glass part of the window? If it's on the sill, then try a Mr. Clean magic eraser. If it's on the glass, use some rubbing alcohol or the Mr. Clean eraser might even work on glass too.
As for the carpet, use some Resolve carpet cleaner and let it set for awhile. Don't use water on the carpet or it can set and get moldy and you definitley don't want mold in your carpet because there's no way to get it out.
If all else fails, put a piece of furniture over the carpet stain and get some long curtains to cover up the window :-)

I don't know what will help remove permanent marker ink, but if you use a Mr Clean eraser like some people suggest, remember it's toxic -- they have formaldehyde and other toxins and carcinogens in them. They're not labeled (no law making them label them that way yet). I saw a show about it on CBC's Marketplace warning consumers about laundry detergents and cleaning supplies that are cancer-causing or can make people ill (including kids).

the window should be easy just use baby oil and it will most likely come right off. If the carpet is white or at least a light color I would try bleach. or you could just go to the store and buy an area rug to throw over it. good luck though

Baby wipes or the magic eraser should work on the walls. A good carpet cleaning foam may work on the carpet.

Hair spray removes ink. It will take alot and smell. Try doing it in the morning and spending the rest of the day out with the window cracked. Spray it on well and blot it up with paper towels until its gone. Had to do this to a tuxedo shirt after a pen broke, it eventually sparkled it came out so well. Good luck

Oxyclean, Magic Clean, or the effervescent lemon juice, or Pinesol. These required much scrubbing and lots of praying. Its either this or buy a throw rug to cover the mess.

Use any sort of thinner on the glass. The rug might be a little harder ... although whatever solvent you use, try a bit on a hidden part of the carpet first in case it discolors.
I think Goo Gone might help.

nail varnish remover should get it off. just put a little on a tissue and sponge it towards the middle of the mark. don't do it outwards or it might spread it. Good luck!!
