I don't really believe in God, myself, but people keep saying 'he's real and he's great'. If he's real, he's got a rotten sense of humour if you ask me.

Now, I know about shedding the lining when eggs aren't fertilised and all that, but all the other creatures procreate, and I never saw a horse or a monkey or anything other than a human with a period. It's just daft!

Well it is a necessity for the procreation for woman to release the egg and if not fertilized then the lining to which it is attached must be shed to clean out the womb for the next egg. Otherwise we could be like spiders and just carry around a big egg sac or something equally gross.

everything God does has a reason.
women have periods because of hormonal changes in their body making them release an egg, if the egg does not fertilize then it causes a period.
animals also have a bleeding time. they go in heat. I think it was a flaw in the initial design, and seeing how he had already spent so much time on the other stuff he was in kind of a hurry to get Adam some company, cause he was such a whiny little man... so he just let the flaw slide. God figured the woman would be so much smarter than man she would be able to figure out a way to deal with it.

So a woman wouldn't have to have sex for a whole week, with her husband.
Really is because the body prepared for a baby and a baby didn't happen so the extra blood goes in the pad. And it stinks.
