Ramsay's constant aggression and swearing at the chefs does not seem likely to get the best from his staff. I find it unpleasant and unnecessarily nasty.

It's all theatrics. That's what makes the show popular. The audience wants to see as much humiliation as possible. No one forces the chefs to sign up for the show. They are willing to go though hell to get a big opportunity. What bothers me most is that these folks have such poor skills they should not even be on a TV cooking show.

He's like that at all times - he cusses in his own BBC show.

Give the man credit - he has been successful and he deliberately chooses people that he knows will fail - in the name of ratings.

My father works in kitchens - it's no picnic in real life either. In fact, the stress is higher at a bigger name restaurant because the margins for making money are razor thin.
