What an excellent question!
It is because the dominant religion in this country and in most of the West is, at the moment, Christianity. Christians do not see their religion as a myth at ALL, but as the absolute truth, or at least an authentic religion, while they tend to dismiss other religions (look at how they view Islam, or Judaism...and don't even get 'em STARTED on Wicca!).
They think they're right, because "the Bible says so", which has as much logic in it as saying Witches are "Right because the Wiccan Rede says so"!
I agree with you that ALL religion is mythology...it just dates from different times and some religion has more political clout (*Christian Coalition*-cough!) than others!

Religion needs to have its own category because, unlike "spirituality" or "mythology", religion is not a set of beliefs but a system of rituals. For example, if one is a spiritual person he or she may celebrate thier spiritual beliefs under the title of Budhism, Wicca, or Catholicism. See, Christianity is a spiritual belief that Jesus is/was God incarnate, you can choose to be Protestant, Baptist, Born Again, etc. The spirituality of Christianity (or mythology if you will) is separate from being a Jehova's Witness..... do you see??? Being a Baptist, for example, is having a religious "structure" for the spiritual beliefs of Christianity. Same goes for being a Pagan whereas you may be Wiccan, or perhaps other types of religious practice--- see?
This is a great question. Personally, I do not have a religion that I follow yet draw from a variety of different rituals to celebrate my spirituality. I hope this helps!!

It actually doesn't, it is combined with "spirituality", but then I'm sure you really saw that. I think to many mythology would fall under spirituality, so they are together. Additionally, I think a majority of the people in the world are religious, so any intelligent company would have a category dedicated to it. I have a religion but I don't hold it against you if you don't, and I wouldn't disrespect or be rude to you either, so why be rude to those that do believe in something?

Mythology are inventions of the mind, religion is about beauty, goodness, and truth.
Some things about mythology are true, such as morality. Just because myths are not on par with Christianity doesn’t make them all false. The Greeks, for example, made mistakes such as belief in many gods, but that just proves that they knew there is such a thing as a supernatural thing.
Santa Clause it isn’t all false either. Santa Clause is an invention of the mind that says he gives goodness and happiness to people. Having the thought of giving goodness and happiness to people means there is such a thing that brings us goodness and happiness. Of course, that Being is God. However, the person Santa Clause is false.

Religions are man made organizations that use God to Attract people. Mythology is the study of stories about Gods, angels, deities ect. There is a big difference. Spirituality on the other hand, is in the closest relation to God and should not be categorized with religion.

Because there are a fair number of people on this forum who believe it to be true and not mythology. And the door is open for you to leave should you feel the need to go to Mythology instead.

There is a difference between faith and myth. It's not put under mythology, because faith/religion has never been proven to be a myth. There is no physical, scientific proof that God does not exist

I highly doubt that you do think it a myth. If you did, it would not bother you so much. You remind me of someone that gets sick if they eat Big Macs but they go to McDonalds everyday...for a Big Mac. If you do not like what is said here, no one forces you to come here.
The Bible does have a term for those who refuse to believe in God....you can check it out at Psalm 14:1
You may also want to check Psalm 53:1

while "religions" are, at least in part, mythological
however you are mistaken if you have the misconception that the Worship of the Triune Creator-God also is mythology -- unless, of course, you also believe the Universe is just mythological ... and you, also.
