This is because your liver canot break down the enzymes in the alcohol and so your body gets poisoned every time you drink, you seriously need to consider never drinking again. You should accept now that you are basically allergic to alcohol, so if you were told you were allergic to peanuts you would'nt eat them. It may seem drastic but dont worry if you have'nt a dependancy on alcohol, (which you obviously dont) it will be easy to stop. The vomiting occurs due to the poisoning and as you say it can be for 2 days this is seriously dangerous as it could mean you already have liver damage, you may have been born with a predisposition to liver weakness. So stop the drinking for now, see your g.p. and ask for a liver function test be honest with the doctor so he/she can do the best thing for you. You say you only drink every 2 weeks but how mmuch of what are you drinking when you do? If you continue drinking with liver damage you will further damage it but if you stop now the liver can repair itself somewhat. Good luck.

Alcohol is a drug and peoples susceptability to them can vary a great deal! What you are descibing is a common side effect and can eventually cause Ulcers. It is actually Alcohol Poisoning! Your problem is you drink too much at one time (binge drinking) If you get drunk everytime you go out it doesn't matter how often you do it. CUT DOWN and find YOUR LIMIT. Try a couple less drinks every time you drink till you feel ok the next day! You may find you actually can enjoy yourself without getting drunk! Why Do It! It's usually a horrible feeling! and who really Wants a HANG-OVER!

It sounds like you may have an ulcer, you may want to check to see if you have other symptoms(you may notice that it lists heavy drinking as a cause of ulcers). My wife had the exact same thing happen. It could be because of stress. A good thing to do is if you are planning on going out drinking you should have a glass or two of buttermilk and it will help LOTS. Just drink milk and other dairy foods and it should get better. Or just go to a doctor and ask.

Chances are your body has a low concentration of alcohol dehydrogenase, the enzyme that breaks down alcohol. This causes your body to overdose on alcohol quickly and thus the body will spontaneously induce vomitting to remove the poison before further harm can come. Try drinking small quantities of alcohol (1-2 cups) a day three days a week for a month or so and see if that doesn't help the problem.

If you in fact do have a virus, you won't be able to eat or drink anything until it is out of your system. So,for now ice chips only. If you feel you are extremely dehydrated you may need fluids through an IV. And you would need to go to the hospital for that.

You must have a check up. If you drink with the frequency and in the amount you mention, there is something else going wrong. I am an alcoholic, by the way, so I should know!

Sounds like alcoholic poisoning, some people have a very low tolerance to alcohol.
It would be best if you stopped drinking it, as in the long term you might suffer from some severe medical complications.

Getting drunk is no sin---throwing up on the freshly painted bonnet of my car is, or on my floor, or on me!
Seriously, I suspect that a mix of something caused the alcohol to lay on your stomach. Rotting the next day, it has to go somewhere.
So..I would check with an MD.

Sorry to state the obvious, but don't drink! It sounds like you've developed a severe intolerance to alcohol - some people develop an allergy to it. You need to ask yourself if having even one drink is worth chundering your insides up for, or worse - wrecking your liver.
