I like to eat pomegranates. If ripe, they are sweet, and if you eat one seed at a time, it will last almost forever, give you many antioxidants, and give you very few calories. Also drinking fruit juice can help, but be careful it isn't sweetened!

sugar cravings generally occur when you are experiencing a sugar low, or "crash", and you need sugar to get your energy back up. this actually happens with any sort of addiction (junk food, alcohol, drugs). a pleasure center in your brain is triggered by your "drug" of choice, and your mood goes south if you haven't had it for awhile.

have you tried artificial sweeteners? maybe they will help curb your sugar cravings.

while on your diet, go heavy on the protein which will keep you full and provide your muscles with needed energy so you don't lose muscle mass. also drink lots of water.

don't give up sweets cold turkey. you are more likely to succeed in your weight loss if you are on a regimen that you can live with, so you don't give up in 2 days.

good luck!

That is not a problem, you can be on a diet and continue to have some sugar, is not going to make you gain any weight..☺
