what can i give my husband, who is TERRIFIED to fly, to take on his trip and keep him safe and feel better?

Tell him about these true statistics:
-You are much more likely to get in a car wreck than for the plane to crash.
-Commercial planes are VERY safe.
-The pilot and ground crew go very carefully all over the plane to see if anything is wrong after & before every flight.
-It is about one out of a billionth chance that a plane will fall out of the sky.
When I was a girl and flying, I always used to stare in wonder out of the plane window at takeoff, which is the scariest time for most people. Tell him NOT TO LOOK. Wish him good luck from me :)

There are classes to learn not to fear flying. Are there any in your area, and do you have time to do this?

Sleeping pills are great, if you have a long flight, and they will not interfere with what you have to do upon landing. With them, I slept for 8 1/2 hours on an 11 hour flight. Tho, I love to fly-I just knew I needed to get some sleep before getting to my destination. Without them, I will not sleep at all on a flight.

If it is this bad, just get your doctor to give him a couple mild sedatives. He can take one before boarding and he will feel much more relaxed. Hypnotism works too you know for people with this anxiety disorder.
