Jus yesterday she told its best if we stay friends, now here is the weird part jus a couple days ago she was sayin that she loved me and called me and was cryin on the phone sayin she feels worthless and that everyone is negative with her. I let her know that i would always be there for her and confirmed that she was a beautiful person, inside and out. She developed depression after our break up though, we were goin out for 3 yrs and broke up 2 mnths ago. Her family is very negative towards her. She is not herself wit the depression and i think thats why she is sayin that we should be friends. She says she doesnt talk to anybody includin her family and her family says negative things about me because they think its my fault she has depression. This was her first real relationship. Even at her work she has all her calls forwarded to voicemail, she doesnt answer the house phone. She wont talk to anybody. Im really just confused and i want answers i feel unsettled, i need to know y.

At first I wanted to ask "who broke up with who", but I realized that it's not that important. The fact is, she has problems dealing with reality. You're better off without her, but you should still be friends with her.

First off you’re asking the right questions, and second you have some of the answer to what is wrong. Her depression if it has extends past several months could be acute depression. Sure you could suggest a psychologist and take medication, however I would like you first off see if she aggress with you that she is depressed. If she does you might ask her if the relationship with you brings her positive emotions and joy or less. The other question is to ask her what brings her joy. You may want to elevate your activity level go biking, walking, swimming, and dancing. Yes sex is great too for a mood alteration but you should have several different types of activities threw out the day that can elevate her depression.
You may ask questions such as do you find your job fulfilling and if so what parts do you like, could you see your self in that job happy in the next 5 years. Do you think some other carrier would bring you more fulfillments?
I think that your relationship maybe her only joy that is a shame because she needs several other points in her life that brings her joy too. Even volunteering at a nursing home, hospital, nature center, or other community service area would bring more appreciation from other.
Is there a spiritual person that she listens to or you know of that could help her and maybe both of you if she is interested?
Well hope this helps you out. The answer is how can we bring more joy into our life.

Understand that she is experiencing depression and may not be expressing her true feelings. She is probably as confused as you are. Don't let her present response reflect on you as a person. The best relationships evolve out of friendships. Be a good friend to her, put her present needs for professional help first, encourage her to seek professional help and when she is in a better mental state she may realize that you are a true winner and will be open to the relationship moving to a new level.

If you are truly concerned that she might be clinically depressed, then suggest that she gos to see a doctor ASAP. Clinical depression is not something that should be taken lightly.
