So I was going out with this girl for 5 years and she recently stood me up on my bday after she told me that she wanted to go out. I later found out that she stood me up on my bday to go out on a date. Now she keeps calling and emailing me. We were trying to build our relationship back but after this episode I told her never to call again. She call all the time and sends me emails. So my question is how should I feel? Relief cause I dont have to deal with her anymore. Or heartache cause our relationship is over?

Definitely don't give her another chance for acting this way. She was purposely trying to spite you, and now it seems like she wants you back just to hurt you again and maybe keep you from having the last say. I think you should feel free and easy after figuring out she wasn't good for you. Of course you will feel some pain, but I don't think that it's from wanting her back, its from loving someone who then turned so hateful. So look at it as a growing experience, be proud of your maturity, and be happy that you are free to now look for a healthy relationship. Good luck!

You feel how you feel. It's ok to feel both. If you were in a long term relationship there will always be part of you that is upset about the relationship ending, but on the other hand you should also feel glad that you found out about what she was doing and ended the relationship. She obviously wants you back, but unless you could trust her again I suggest you're right to try to move on. Good Luck, it's her loss!

It is normal to be sad, but I would be very relieved. She ditched you to go with another man. She woulda done it sooner or later, and just like this time, you would have had to find out.Whether it was walking in on her with another man, or your friends. That is worse. It's one of those better now than later things. I have been through that, let me tell you. And I am very sorry for you. Keep your head up though, and don't go back to her!

Going out with the other guy might have made her realize that your the man she wants to be with. Standing you up was very wrong, but it seems like she knows she made a mistake. If you love her then try to work it out. If not then let her go.

Both feelings are appropriate. But don't go back if you have any self-respect.
