I'm going to a game tomorrow and didn't want to pay $20 for parking, anyone know of free parking resonably close by.

Look at the parking signs on the street. Parking is free after a certain time (usually 7pm).
My friend and I went to a Lakers game at the Staples Center. She parked 3 blocks away for free at 6:49pm.

No unless you want to walk 5 miles,there are cheaper options however, the gas station/car wash on Figueroa usually charges $10.00 and since you will be in the downtown area, I wouldn't take the cheap rout by leaving my car on the street unattended.

the park at my place website is british. So that probably doesnt help you in LA. You may want to look into public transportation (thats what I use in san diego).
