Yes i would hand it the wallet - with its contents.

Reverse the situation. If YOU lost a wallet with such contents, you would want whoever found it to be honest and hand it in, wouldnt you! (Remember the saying do unto other what you would want done unto you).

I also believe that it would be very difficult to spend the money with a clear conscience if you were to just "spend" the money; whenever you thought about what you had bought, you would be thinking about the poor person who had lost it, and wondering if you SHOULD have handed it in.

Also, honesty is always the best policy.

What about this
Buy 1000 lotto tickets
if you get more than a grand back put the grand back in the wallet and give it back
If you win nothing you and the person have both lost a grand and you can sympathise.hand in the empty wallet though as it's usually loosing all the other contents that fuc'k you up.
Personally I wouldn't give money to a policeman you may be honest but is he?
I hope I never lose a grand now!

Of course, its the right thing to do...
right after you take out the cash and right after youve been to the pub
:-) - Id call that a blessing

sure, Id feel a little bit guilty... for a moment. Idremind myself that this wasnt a little old lady struggling to pay her gas bill... Any guy who could carry that much around can afford to miss it

Well I once found 10 shilling note (equivalent to 50p & yes I am that old)…& kept it!

But if I found a grand or more I think I would hand it in…unless I knew it was yours of course :)

I would hand it in. That's too much money to just be forgotten. Someone will be hot on your tail looking for it...then what? Broken legs? Pay it all back after you spent 1/2 of it. Much easier to just hand it in, wasn't yours to begin with so you wont miss it!

My motto has always been do unto others as they would do unto thee. So I would definately hand it in. I'm not really religious but all the people who have f***ed me over in life got their comeuppance so I really do think that what goes around comes around!
