my son has F/M and because of this some days he is active and other days he is in a lot of pain. I can't get the teachers/principal to understand that even if he looks well he actually may feel like roadkill

your best option is a note from the doctor. You may be in for a fight but your child does have rights this is not the 50's anymore

Sometimes fibromyalgia is still considered a "junk" diagnosis and a lot of people think that is is malingering and laziness. You will have an uphill battle to try to explain it, but you will have to teach your son to stand up for himself and learn to cope in the world with an illness with few visible symptoms.

u will have to get it in writing by a physician. otherwise it goes in one ear and out the other. the school systems cannot argue with a physician plan of care for their patients. this is the only way to avoid any confortations with the school administration.
if u have already got the plan of care then they cannot do anything to him or make him do anything that he feels like he is not able to do. otherwise the school administration can be in contempt of discrimination and that's serious stuff.

Have his pediatrician contact the school and explain it to them. Sometimes having a Professional doing all the talking seems to help. If this doesnt work, contact the School Board and let them know the incompetencies of their staff.

Call the school board and ask to speak to the administator or the director. See if your doctor can help you with this. Maybe all of you could have a meeting.
