I've been wondering about the immigration debate, and I want to know who do people blame? This question is for all countries but I'm focusing on the U.S.A. Do you blame your goverment or the people trying to get a better life? Note: A lot of people in the U.S.A. are mad at the illegal immigrants, but we should be upset with our lazy @ss government who does nothing to stop illegal immigration, they seem to support it! So let's not get upset with the illegals. (If I lived in a poor country which so happened to border a rich country that didn't enforce its border/immigration laws, I would cross into that country too!) Let's focus our anger on the people who should be receiving it, our f*cked up politicans!

I do not an ax to grind with the illegals. If I was living in a corrupt sewer like Mexico with no future I might like to cross. I do not have anything against them I just value my own countryman more.

I blame the politicians from both sides of the aisle. The Democrats believe they can snare them in their web of social services and provide themselves with perpetual voters. The Republicans want the free labor for their corporate sponsors. I also blame the greed of the employers who do not want to pay market rate for employees.

I believe the answer is to treat the employers who knowingly hire illegals like drug dealers. Give them long prison sentence and confiscate all of the property that was supported by illegal labor. I believe the first time a beef plant went to the government and the plant manager went to prison I believe illegal immigration would halt overnight. The illegals would go home without the jobs. If after that we found we needed labor we could devise a program for that. They would be the workers we chose.

I believe this would work, would be cheap and would remove the onus from the illegal workers and place it on the greedy where it belongs.

The majority of the fault definitely lies with U.S. employers who unlawfully hire illegals. They should be heavily fined when caught the first time. On the second offense, they should be stopped from doing business in the U.S. Also, there should be a major crackdown on politicians who have a connection or financial interest in corporations that unlawfully hire illegals. If illegals have nowhere to work, they will not cross the border. Guaranteed. It is the duty of government to make sure that the current laws are properly being enforced. And a report card grade for the U.S. government in that area would probably read as a "D-" or "F" up to this point in time.

'So, let's not get upset with the illegals'. You've chosen sides, there...

I'm against illegal immigration. I think there should be a lawful process for working in or moving to a new country, and there is.

This isn't 1848, or even 1910, this is 2006. In the last 100 years, the world has added, count em, 5 billion people, roughly. The USA has tripled, Mexico's grown about 4 times or so, India and China...well, read for yourself. There's a lotta damn people out there. So, what worked before probably ain't gonna work no more...so, who's got the bright ideas? Don't scapegoat politicians, either...you elected em, you voted(or didnt), so step forward and take your blame with everybody else...

Support the US Border Patrol!

The majority of anger is focused on those that we have sent to Washington D. C. to protect and serve us. Unfortunately, illegal aliens have incurred anger by their arrogance and terrible behavior while in the US. No, not all, but many. They are not content with working and becoming a part of the US. They have brought drugs, gangs, child and spousal abuse with them. They refuse to follow the laws once they do get here and refuse to learn the English language. They suck up welfare, medical services and law enforcement budgets and pay nothing back to the system. So, I guess you could say there is enough anger for the politicians and the illegals.

I blame the immigrants because thy are very selfish the want to make a better life for themselves by ruining our countrie's economy and if you say that our econamy relies on the immigrants than you are an idiot! If the immigrants all left there would be more jobs for people who were born here. And employers would be forced to pay higher wages as there would be less people on the work force.

While many people blame it on our government's transparent offers of incentives of welfare, education, etc., I realize that it is a variety of factors. There are those few who are just malicious or racist and want to spark more crime in our country. But also, foreign governments are to blame. Mexico especially hands out pamphlets on how best to sneak into the United States. And to think they deserve the right to protest when we put up a wall on our border.

Our corrupt local, state & federal government officials are to blame that our laws are not being enforced! Our borders should have been sealed tight within hours of 9/11...for that bush is to blame.

Thte illegal aliens are to blame for the hatred we have for them...demanding rights, babies every 9 months & a day, disrespecting our flag, abusing welfare and on & on. Like I have said before I'll probably go to hell for all the horrible things I wish on them!

We are not angry at the illegals for wanting to come here to look for a better life. We are angry because they are coming here illegally and putting a strain on our economy by causing us to have to pay for their medical care when they go the the hospitals for care. I do not want to pay their taxes and mine too. I am Mexican descent as my grandfather was a legal citizen coming from Mexico and applied for citizenship. My grandfather was here legally had a business and paid his taxes as Americans are supposed to. Legal immigrants do not get jobs sometimes either because the illegals will work for less. We do not think that Americans should lose jobs to illegals no matter what country they come from.

The segment of society to blame for illegal immigration is the wealthy capitalist corporations, who want them here so they will do the work for very little pay. We will not really try to keep them out because they improve the profit ratio of the major corporations who give large campaign contributions to our elected officials. This also manages to keep wages low for american citizens, ie minimum wage not going up to keep pace with the cost of living, which is another side benefit.

no one is to blame apart from ourselves who have let ourselves be blinded and hoodwinked by govs keen to stay put using any means possible,uk is famous for-divide and rule for many years, usa and all major countries seem to have followed suit in this respect political corectness being their ultimate tool when people start to ask awkward Qs,i mean come-on how can someone be imprisoned for expressing a point of view in private in a democratic enviroment it s soooo obvious that the people they USE for this are favoured by the gov while they are of use to them, when they have MISSION ACOMPLISHED they want retirement as a whole and BEHOLD a new group from another "poor"enviroment suddenly tear down all the countrys defences and win the day reguarding forced entry WAKE UP CITIZENS! I DONT REALLY THINK THIS COULD BE ALLOWED IF .AHEM the usa/uk/europe didnt want it happening,a small matter of LARGE MILLITARY would show up to stop it,UNLESS A FAKE PEACE MISSION IN MIDDLE EAST CONSUMED A LARGE GROUP OF MILLITARY (JUST BY COINCIDENCE)OF COURSE,watch the govs right active hand but whos watching its left boring hand MEEEEEEEEEEEE
