I say no! Because you don't want your hair to go through too much tention! It will pull your hair out more! you have "Virgin hair" right now so it would be bad if you did that! So relax on the braids for awhile! i say leave it alone for awhile maybe twist your hair a bit! let it breath for about a month or so! I went through the same thing and i'm taking mine out now! I'm just gonna leave it alone for a bit! If the rest of your hair is relaxed try to press your hair with a hot comb. it will have that straight look but it's not relaxed and at the same time you can have it grow out!

Braids can put tension on the hair, and I have had many clients that have had this occur. I always, always, always, use a protein treatment on the hair. Strictly protein. One that is excellent used to be called CAT by Redken. You can also go to the beauty store and get the protein treatment by Aphogee. This is an animal protein, not a vegetable protein like the CAT, but it's a nice substitute. It doesn't smell nice, but it is great for the hair. Shampoo, rinse, use the treatment, let it dry into the hair (your hair will be hard), rinse, and add a moisturizing conditioner. I have many witnesses to this treatment, and a month later, if there is improvement, you may be able to return to braids. Just don't keep them in too long. Oh and natural is an amazing way to go.

Awe that happens I know because I were Braids faithfully. You should probably condition and straighten it for at least two weeks and get cornrows the next time. Cornrows are not so damaging to your hair. You can get all kind of styles that will look right for you.

No, don't get braids again; your hair will continue to break off. While your hair is natural, don't use any chemicals on it (for example: relaxers). You should get a scalp and hair treatment by a professional. Keep it clean and use natual oils for your scalp and hair. Let your hair strengthen before you do anything drastic again:) :)

Normally hair breaks off anywhere from 1/2 an inch a month because it is growing every month so the dead hair has to break off.

I wish more black people would just wear their hair the way it is naturally (either natural or dreads). I think it looks beautiful, you can go swimming, you can wash your hair easier, and you don't have to pay someone 100 (or more) bucks every few weeks for some high-maintenance 'do. But then, it's not my hair and not my decision.

So my answer is, no braids.

yeah you should get braids its great for hair growing.. if you have a good size medium.. not too big. not too small. if its small thats worst. your hair will break if you have big.. lol it doesnt really matter... just avoid micro braids.

You should get a really good hair treatment first....and I must say that if your hair is breaking that "time is of the essence".
