I know that it varies from student to student and family to family and day to day. I am looking for specific numbers. Please don't tell me about most homeschoolers, I want to know about you specifically. How much time do you or your student spend with people outside of family?

Time spent around people outside of our home-schooling household:

Anywhere from 3 to 10 hours in a day depending on the day and the activities that are going on. Somedays it can be only an hour or two -- but on average probably 4 hours per day.
Studying takes 4 to 6 hours. Chores can take an hour or so. Hobbies, events, jobs, etc take up a big part of the day.

It's really difficult to put a solid number on any particular day because everything is so flexible and there are many variables.

We are a homeschooling family of 3. The kids do their daily work usually in 3 to 4 hours. Then depending on the day, we spend another 3 to 4 hours outside of the home with various activities. The kids have done/are doing: football, volleyball, church youth groups, group history classes, group preschool classes, gymnastics, dance, music lessons, and too many field trips to mention! There is usally 3 to 4 field trips a month we choose to go on. Some field trips are just an hour or so, and some (like today) last up to 5 hours.
I hope that answered your question.

Well since my daughter is only 4 1/2 and we just got started I would have to say it depends on the day. There are days we don't even leave the house and it is just a hi to the neighbors, other days she is out helping the next door neighbor with her gardening or feeding the chickens and that might be 30 minutes to an hour and other days she is out for a few hours with Grandma and PaPa. We don't get out and socialize very much right now since there are very few children we know. We are quiet people and tend to just socialize when we get the opportunity, but I don't make it a habit that she is out socialzing with people every single day. I am sure that will change the older she gets and when she really starts making friends.

well, My daughters have a newspaper route that they do in a leisurely manner because they stop and chat with some of the customers on the route- most of the ones they visit with are older and live alone. They participate in Homeschool Sports once a week and get to hang out with a bunch of kids for two hours there. Once a week they participate in a youth group and get outside fellowhip for two hours there. I teach an art class and they get to do art with other students then. Both of my daughters have friends in the neighborhood they hang out here or at their friends house, often having dinner at their friends houses or sleeping over at least once a week.
There are other activities and things they leave the house- without their parents for- I cannot give specific times because it varies from week to week. They hang out with homeschooled and public schooled kids alike but I still set limits and restrictions on who and where they fellowship. It would take something severe for me to ban them from hanging out with a particular person but if I feel someone would more likely influence them in a negative way than them being a positive influence, I will have them hang out here under my supervision, but if I know other parents have similar values or at the least will respect my values and standards when my child is in their home, I will allow then to go there.
The more maturity my daughters show regarding their attitudes towards my rules and respectfulness, accountability for their behavior and general responsibility, the more privleges and freedoms they will have outside of the home.

My kids spend at least an hour every single day. But they are young, and don't have as many extracurriuclars yet. Some days we are out 1 hour, some days 4. It depends on the day, and if our play group is meeting, or if we have a field trip to the zoo, the museum, the science center, the horse park.....I could go on.

I was homeschooled for all my life. I would guess I spent 2 hours a day outside of home with other people by the time I did music lessons, girl scouts, sports, drama etc.

Not sure per day, but let me see.

Church on Sunday (2 hours)
Delivering Meals-on-Wheels to seniors weekly (1 hour)
Home school Group on Monday (4 hours)
Dance Class on Monday afternoon (1 hour)
Girl Scouts on Monday evening (2 hours)
Swimming lessons on Tuesday (0.5 hours)
Ice Skating with home-school group (2 hours)
Bible Club on Wednesday (1 hour)
Piano Class (group of 5 children) (1 hour)
Choir Practice (1 hour)
In summer there is Soccer twice a week (3 hours)

Add to that time at the park, grocery store, lunch out with friends, volunteering in our community, visiting friends, going to the Vets with our animals, library. I would say that we spend at least 2 hours a day out with other people, often it would be more.
