I have been working out on and off for years, but for the last 3 weeks I have been working out monday-friday for 2 hours a day. I don't usually eat anything before I work out, sometimes I might have a light n fit yogurt before I go. So why is it wen I kick butt at the gym, I come home and just want to eat to everything....I eat lunch when I get home, but I mean I crave candy, then cheese, and so on. Does anyone know what my body is trying to tell me??

ok I should add that I work out first thing in the morning. I drop my kids off at school and hit the gym. I read that when you leep you burn carbs, and when you weight train before cardio you burn more carbs, so when you do cardio you burn more fat....thus why I skip the meal, but I guess I will eat light breakfast before I go.

Your body is trying to tell you you are depleting something it needs. salt is lost from sweating when working out and sugar is needed to refuel muscles. You could also just be thirsty. Thirst and hunger are often confused. your body gives off the same signals for both drink water or sports drink and if after 20 minutes you still crave something then try a sweet apple or some pretzels both low in calories and a healthy snack

Exercising isn't effective unless you eat something... didn't you know that? Otherwise ur burning muscle not fat. Try eating even a few hundered cals before hittnig the gym and see if your cravings go away.

yess you are burning so many calories that your body need more energy from food. Try eating something before you work out so that your body thinks it is supposed to use the energy it gets from food instead of store it. and you shouldn't need to eat afterwards
