If you do, maybe you haven't read the Bible closely enough. Remember the flood? Remember Sodom and Gomorrah? It seems unlikely to me that the God described in the Old Testament will bail us out if we continue on our present course to make the world uninhabitable.

I believe that God gave us the ability to study and understand the the beauties of nature as a gift and he intends for us to be good stewards of his wondrous gift. We aren't doing a very good job of it at all. I think his gift, nature, will take care of the human race by extinction and then beautiful nature will live on, heal and thrive once more after we are gone from the planet. "He" will only save us from envorinmental disaster if we, through another of his gifts "free will", take control of our environmentally abusive habits and start taking care of the environment like "he" intended.

If a worldwide environmental disaster that makes the Earth uninhabitable occurs, then one might say that the Day of Judgement is upon us. Is it not written in the Book of Revelation that there will be many calamities and wonderous and terrible sights on that day?

But man is not making the Earth "uninhabitable" by his "present course." The Earth has endured calamities much worse than anything humans can inflict upon it. Global warming is a problem, not because it threatens the human race with extinction, but because it will make life more unpleasant, and force many changes in how we live (in exemplis, the eastern coast of the United States could be inundated by rising ocean levels, forcing people to move inland). What we are doing is trading short-term satisfaction for long-term pain, which can be averted with a bit of foresight. It is good to make hay whilst the sun is shining, but one must also prepare for those days when the sky may be overcast.

The only way man could come close to making the Earth uninhabitable for the human race is with nuclear weapons. But even a complete nuclear holocaust would not kill everyone. Some people somewhere would survive, and would adapt to the vastly changed environment. And some species of animals, plants, and especially microbes would also survive and adapt to the new environment.

It is impossible for man to render the Earth completely sterile. So rest assured that whilst the effects of global warming, if unchecked, will make life more difficult, you will always have a planet upon which to live. And God may help us by inspiring leaders with the foresight to avert the long-term problems of the current policies.

Nope. Natural disasters are going to happen, no matter what. How we deal with them he may help us with but that is how we are tested. Just look at Hurricane Katrina. 1st of all, many people flew from all over the country to help out the victims. 2nd of all, there were tons of looters and crimes breaking out all over the city when it happened. So there is always going to be 2 sides to everything. God will help the good and damn the bad. That is how it has always been and always will be.

The Bible says that God will ruin those ruining the earth. This can be environmentally or morally. The Bible also says that he did not create it simply for nothing. He will step in in his (not ours) own time.

Yes but God created those catastrophes. We are creating the new ones and if God is mad about us abusing the earth he might just not be interested in saving us.

Many people have been predicting the end of the world for thousands of years and none have been right. I will predict the world has thousands of good years left.
