The Christians were right in claiming that Christianity is exclusively true among other religions 2000 years ago.
Judaism was far in the past and Islam was far in the future, and they were taught in different languages.
In reality, all these three religions as well as other monotheistic religions are successive Revelations of the One True God in an infinite process of Progressive Revelation.
All egos are tiny things among the immense creation of God.

I suppose that sometimes people do use their religion as a springboard for their ego. It very unfortunate. For me, Christianity has been the conclusion of facts and evidences beyond room for doubt. Take that and couple it with a little faith and you have be at least a little humbled at the sovereignty of Almighty God. It's ridicules to think I could take credit for something only God can do.

Religion is man trying to reach God. Religious people tend to feel prideful because they believe they are somehow better than others because they keep religious laws.
Christians, however tend to be humble because they had to realize that they are wicked sinners on the way to hell who have received God's amazing grace through Jesus dying for us. They are not religious but rather have a living relationship with the Lord through Jesus. The correct thinking is humbleness towards others and gratefulness towards God because we know God did not give us what we deserve.

From my point of beliefs Christianity is not about being right...however the more time I spend on answers the more I begin to think you have just hit the nail on the head.

Many of the Christians I find here on Answers simply try to be right...they do not care about truth or humanity, just about trying to prove someone else wrong...it is disgusting and dangerous. There are many on answers who honestly have questions regarding faith...these people who show insanely one-sided views are messing with people's very spirituality...this they have no right o do...My suggestion is if you have questions about faith...you don't come here to do it.

I'm not into religion. I am a born again chrsitian who tries to live according to the word of God, and have a lot of personal changes that I need to work on daily. But It is possible through Jesus, and I praise Him for being there with me through it all.

No, it isn't. I think you have it a bit wrong..

Christianity is more "My beliefs are correct because My God has taught them to me"

So it's not about ego at all.

Its not about what I, a human, think. Its about what the bible says, since it was inspired by god. The true religion is the one that follows the bible, and demonstrates the fruits of the spirit. and the bible does say that there is only one.

No. It is expressing what you believe, and being able to stand for those beliefs. We need more people who are able to converse their thoughts and beliefs honestly without societal correctness!

I admire Christians earnest convictions of faith, even if they disagree with mine.

Yes, it is. It's also about truth. If the Bible is real (which is a possibility), then we need to believe in it, or else perish. So it's more than just ego, it's what is truth.
