How do I turn on the " Document History " in my windows?

I have a windows xp (home edition) and I would like to have "document history" to show on my start menus. How do I get it back on?

right click start,properties,advanced, check the box,then ok

That's a feature that everyone loves, but, sadly, it's only available on Pro edition! Although if you look on www.sourceforge.net and on Google you may come across an alternative.
