Today, one of my friends was telling me how strong a bond she has with her one true best friend...the one who knows EVERY single detail about her character and the friend who she can confide in without receiving prejudice or judgement. The kind of friend who, if lost, feels like you've lost a part of yourself...What she was talking about got me thinking and i was wondering...my goodness, i don't have anybody like that and it's one of my deepest desires to find a friend like that. Do you think if having faith that i will meet someone like that will make it happen or do you think it depends on luck?

I think everyone should have a friend like the one that you described. Chances are you already know that special person but you two aren't yet close as you could be. My best friend knows every little thing about me. My facial expressions and what they mean, my moods, my thoughts, my fears, my concerns, what makes me happy and sad...She can tell by looking in my eyes exactly what I'm thinking or feeling. But when I first met her we didn't get along that well and I never saw myself being so close to her. You find friendships like these in the most unexpected places.

I think a lot of it just depends on being that kind of friend in the first place. Most people are searching for love and acceptance- it's kind of a universal need. If you find someone who has time they can devote to you- I think you can create a friendship just like the one your friend has. I think it takes just as much work as luck. It seems like that is why Hollywood marriages fall apart so fast. They all seem to think they have a "soulmate" floating around somewhere, and when the going gets tough... they realize they aren't with their star-crossed love. Faith- works- you know the drill.

It depends on you. In order to have that kind of friend you have to be that kind of friend! True friendship doesn't come easily-it can take years to develop the kind of friendship your talking about. The easiest way to get a start on it is to simply be the best person that you can. This makes it easier for people to become friends with you and to gain trust in you. Always remember that trust is one of the most important factors in any friendship-if you can't trust someone or they can't trust you its a lost cause.

Dont be too desperate on finding someone like that in any new person you meet. It's just like love, it comes by itself and maybe even without you noticing at first. If you act as yourself to your friends, treat them the same as you want to be treated one day you'll find someone like that.

You can find that kind of friend in Jesus. He will always be there for you. You can confide in Him and He wont blab it to any one else. He will forgive you and wont hold your past against you once you have repented your sins to Him. He is there for you 24/7, and you can't say that about anyone else you know. He is standing right next to you right now, just waiting to hear from you.

He wants to be that kind of friend to you. Do you want Him?
