my puppies LOVE ice. it is fascinating. I put it in their water and it's like they are bobbing for apples, but instead it's ice. when one piece drops on the ground they chase it all over and then chew it to pieces. Anyone else?

yes, in fact we have one dog (male chihuahua) who when he hears you with ice in your cup, he gets in your lap and stares at you and the cup. so my daughter bites of pieces of the ice cube and feeds him a few. he LOVES it! he will not leave her lap until the ice is all gone.
then i have those who chase the cube all around on the kitchen floor. they are so funny!!

We live in Florida, so our dogs get ice all the time. Sometimes they're prefer an ice cube over a cookie! My female dobe knows how to work the "ice through the door" on the fridge!

Ice is a great fat-unfastened handle for canines. every time I replenish a drink I consistently provide them each a cube. I additionally placed ice of their water bowls on warm days. in basic terms beware for the melted ice on the floor. My 2 year previous and that i've got ended up our our behinds a time or 2 =)

My Lab mix LOVES ice. It's the next best thing to a rock for her. She will run around pushing it with her paws until it melts and then come back for more. SHe does the same thing with rocks. Strange, but rocks were her number one toy as a puppy and two years later, they still are.
My Jack/Beagle likes ice cubes too, but he doesn't play with them, just gobbles them right up.

yes! my chihuahua used to beg for ice when she was a puppy. of course we'd give her small pieces and she would chew them right up! but it must have been a puppy thing - she doesn't eat it now. just watches it melt on the floor.

My dogs think they are getting dog treats.
We start giving them ice when they are teething and so they all think it is the best thing.
I like it as it gets extra water into them in the hot months and they make cheap dog treats. And low cal too if you dog needs to loose weight.

Yes, my dog loved it when I would put ice in his bowl. He would eventually get it out and be eating somewhere in the house.

Are they labs? My theory is especially lab puppies (I had some)
like to eat ice because they are getting ther teeth, and it helps soothe their sore gums, but later on continue because they are natural water dogs!
