God is a title, not a name.
Your father's name isn't "Mister;" God's name isn't God.
Why use God? God's revealed name has been lost. The consonants, transliterated from Hebrew, are YHWH. God's name is NOT "Jahovah;" that's a German name using the consonants of God's name with the vowels for Adonai (Lord), with J for the Y and V for the W (those crazy Germans!). The Masoretes tried to recover the name in the first few centuries CE by adding vowels to the Hebrew texts, but they got it wrong in a few places. So the consonants YHWH are the best we have.
Jesus called this God Abba, which was the Aramaic equivalent of "father," also a title.
It's tough to name someone because, according to the ancients, one who names another has control over that other. That's why the Jews were prohibited from speaking God's name.

Actually christians have a jew god. In the old testament the jew god has a lot of names, but since jesus was jew and he said his father is a jew god, christians forgot the they are praising a jew god under the general name as "God" to be different than "Allah" for example

The bible was written in Hebrew and Greek, later translated in English = The King James Version of the Bible.
In the original Hebrew and Greek, the one and only name for God IS YHWH. There are no vowels. But this was somehow translated into english and it IS Yahwah. And the name of the Messiah IS Yeshua !!
God's name is NOT Jehovah, for the Y is not correctly translated into J. This is error.
The Y in YHWH stays a Y.

A true Christian must beleive in the One True God in the name of "I AM THAT I AM" and Jehovah (YHWH).
The prophets of this One True God announced the coming of Christ, and Christians have used the Old Testament to prove this reality.
