I hope the immigration issue will lead people to think a little harder, and maybe even vote...emphasis on the thinking part...

Not everyone crossing the border is doing it to attack us. The majority are doing it to get a better life. Its not like we are loosing high level jobs unless you want to be a janitor or mow some lawns or work under the table or maybe work in a sweat shop for (below minimum wage, no benefits) I think the reason this issue is being blown out of proportion is to get people to not think about the real issues e.g. Iraq, Gay Marriage, Abortion, Stem Cell Research, U.S. Beef(mad cow), Education, Taxes, Gas prices, etc. I mean if you really think about it we invaded America and almost obliterated an entire race of people(Native Americans). I'm not saying that we should just illegals in, but who are we to say who can come to the us or not. Anyway whatever I know post will probably get deleted I see how you people react when someone doesn't agree with your view...

It most certainly will. Some of the illegals already are in gangs, but eventually the Americans will be so exasperated with this crap that they'll take matters into their own hands. Alright, before I say this, I'm going to tell you that I'm not trying to offend you (answerer above me). But it really doesn't matter what the purpose of your migration was. You make it sound as though you own the place. But all decisions in this country are the Americans', not the illegals'. And if we eliminated the purpose for coming here, it wouldn't happen, which is what many of us want. And yes, we do want to maintain our prosperity. That is what any sane person wants. Why would we want to give up everything dear to us so that illegals can prosper?

No, not in the current generation. But as the numbers of illegals expand (and they will!), it will drag the ~next~ generation toward being a Third World country. Do you like having toilet paper, BTW? Do you assume there is a bed for you or your mother at the ER when you are ill? Or when an illegal gets YOUR spot at a college you had hoped to attend. Just wait for THAT. It'll happen if this disastrous issue is not resolved.

That's when the violence will occur. Our children/grandchildrens' generation. Because you know what? They're NOT going to stop coming...not now, not ever...unless we close the US border NOW.

And it's pathetic that now when American ppl see a "Latino" (could be Mexican, Puerto Rican, etc) they are making assumptions that they're illegal--and many are not. The legal immigrants should be the ones most disturbed about all of this.

More than likely. If the government refuses to enforce immigration laws then eventually enough people will start to not only guard the border but start using lethal force.

What planet are you on??? It has already led to violence. The border patrol gets fired on everyday while trying to stop illegals from coming across the border.

Yes... I think the US should line the border with land mine that will stop them.

I think there no choice, at the rate it's going. The more our government fails us the closer we come to violence. I'm just wondering whats taking the militias and the KKK so long.

I hope so too
