It is generally acknowledged that once someone commits a crime, each succeeding crime is that much easier for them to commit. This leads to a criminal mentality where an offender will often choose an illegal action over a legal choice. Illegal aliens must commit dozens of crimes in order to enter, live and work in the country. As they are now conditioned to crime as a way of life, are they more likely to commit additional crimes against others? Does this in turn invalidate the argument that most illegal aliens are not criminals and only looking for work?

I'll agree with that....and say the REAL crime is not enforcing on employers that encourage people to move to the US illegally to begin with by not observing US labor laws.

We need:
employer enforcement
border enforcement
frank and honest dialogue with the public on the issue.
If those 3 things happen, we'll see a lot less illegal immigration.

I don't think the logic used in your question really works. Most illegal immigrants cross borders or commit crimes, as you put it, to enter this country because they are so desperate to enter. that desperation could be for any number of reasons, one of which could be that they are a criminal in their own country. In that case they are already a criminal and are probably more prone to commit crimes here. But I'd be willing to guess that most illegal immigrants break whatever laws to enter the US only because they are looking for a better life. Those people are no more prone to commit crimes simply because of their illegal immigrant status than any other person is prone, especially considering that there are a lot of things that we do on a daily basis that could be considered against the law to some degree, like J walking or littering. We all do those things from time to time, are we ALL more prone to further or escalated illegal activity? The only reason I'd say that these non-criminal illegal immigrants would be more prone to commit a crime is the fact that they may have no money and need to steal in order to eat or clothe themselves.

I don't think that illegal aliens are prone to criminal behavior, they do it for necessity. But I still think that 's not an excuse to come to the USA illegally when they claim that they love so much their culture and country. When you come to the states illegally automatically the Murphy's Law take place and that is,,, That everything that start wrong will end wrong. There is no question about this Law. When they come here illegally they don't exist and because of that they don't have any other alternative than to keep relinking. This is the reason that they are so dangerous for our communities. The illegals cannot be a blessing to our communities the same way a legal criminal cannot be a gain to our communities. With a criminal the community will call the police and report him so it will go away. Well with the illegal is the same way. We have to send them away, far far away back to their country... Good luck!!!

You can't really say yes or no to this question because doing so would be the same thing as making a generalization and generalizations are rarely (if ever) accurate. I WILL, however, say that it'd make sense. They've already broken at LEAST one law to get here, which is really quite selfish, so I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few of them weren't against breaking yet another law to get what they need/want.

Keep in mind, though, that that doesn't mean I believe they're ALL like that because, logically, that hasn't been proven and can't really BE proven.

Very good point. After being 'forced' to commit so many crimes to better their way of life they probably (like any people would) could justify almost anything that they could get away with. Which is a lot since they are undocumented.

Yes, first of all if they are here "illegally", then they will have to try and get work illegally, and then try for state benefits illegally, then try and get some form of identification illegally, and to support and maintain themselfs, then its right back to "illegally". Maybe not all that are trying to get into the U.S. are criminals, but for the higher percentage of these criminals, they all pay.

No, that's not it. Their criminals leave in order to avoid the law. Essentially, since the US border is so porous, Mexico exports its criminals to the US. I've heard that 29 percent of Federal prisoners are illegal aliens. Don't you love seeing your tax dollars at work?

I think so, I mean what is stopping a serial killer from crossing the border killing and then going back? It's not like the local police would have his DNA on file. I think that is a huge threat that we don't address.

Not to mention I see them liter and piss in public all the time
