Essentially they're the same thing, only margarine usually attempts to have a more buttery flavor. Oleo is just short for oleomargarine.

There is no difference. Oleo was a brand name for one of the first margarines that came out. Kindof like everyone calls a tissue a Kleenex. Lots of my mom's handwritten recipes say Oleo.

Not much (truly) but I certainly wouldn't eat them. They are usually made of dangerous trans fats that stay in your system long enough to cause damage in many ways especially your heart. One of my favorite doctors (on radio) Dr. Dean Eddell (sp?) recommends to just eat the real thing in moderation (like NOT everyday!). Such things like sweet (unsalted) butter, sour cream (low fat not fat free), 1% milk (if you hate skim like I do!), sugar (pure..not in a pink packet). So many of these "fake" foods contain things like wax, stabilizers (to make them look like the real thing), salt, & really icky things that they're worse for you in the long run. Enjoy!!

The ingredients for each. But save yourself, don't eat or use either one. Butter has been proven to be better and more natural.
