i ran into this guy about 8 months ago and we really hit it off,i was still bitter about catching my ex cheating on me(they r mutual friends)he listened and understood,he drove me home that night and i invited him to stay,i asked him to sleep in the bed with me,he did,i asked him to put his arm around me,he did till i slept,he was such a gentlaman.things were awkward when he left the next morning,a mutual friend told me he liked me but is freaked about my ex(who still wants me back)so i saw this guy again about 2 months after that night and he came to me and said"your killing me"my ex was also there so we had to keep quiet.I thought about that night with this guy ever since.I saw him at a party a few nights ago and when he walked in he looked at me and looked away real quick.we made small talk here and there throughout the night, and later in the night we both caught eachothers eyes when we were laughing,it was like a moment we had. Then i left. Why have things never gone further?

You waited 2 months to see him again. The longer you wait before having another opportunity to be intimate with someone, the stronger the 'I don't think it was a good Idea' vibe is being received by the other person. Longer time = not ready to move on. It is time to be blunt. When guys are confused, hints will only add to the confusion. If you want him to pursue you, then he needs a green light from you, and not the 50 watt variety, more like and airport beacon. Guys laugh sometimes to relieve tension not because they think something is funny but because they think it is better than awkward silence. Get close enough so you can whisper in his ear. Close enough so he can feel your hot breath on his skin when you talk. This is really sexy, especially if no one else was around to see it any way. If you want a guy to listen, then whisper... Tell him there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that you would go back to your ex. It's over. Nibble the ear and tell him you will give him a little time to think about what he wants to do about it.

Remind your ex that it is over. You would like to stay friends but it will not be anything like it was in the hayday of passion. If he wants, you would be more than happy to help him move on by introducing him to one of your friends and you wish that he could do the same for you. It's time to move on and since you share the same circle of friends, he needs to get use to the idea.

Because he is friends with your ex, who wants you back. If you want to date this guy you will have to call him and tell him.

because he's friends with your ex ... there are rules about this .. just like for girls .. you don't date your friends ex ... he may like you but may not want to lose a frienship with your ex ... and/or maybe he's still thinking that your rebounding.
