Why would your blood become "unusable?"

Marijuana isn't a blood transmitted disease it's a plant that you smoke.

SotiCoto, you're an idiot. People that receive blood would probably not NEED the blood if we lived in the wild. Chances are they were in some freak accident or something that caused them to lose that much blood, i.e. a car accident which last time I checked had nothing to do with natural selection, it just had to do with bad drivers. I suggest you actually learn something about Darwin's theories before you open your mouth again and make every biologist laugh at you.

And to answer your question, marijuana is transported in the blood stream, and do you really want to give that to someone who is already sick? Wait a few days (or longer preferably) after smoking if you want to donate blood.

Its not as if it will stay in your blood all that long. The liver and kidneys should get rid of most of it in a few days.

Its all usable.... though naturally, blood-donation places are fussy about that sort of thing.

What I'm wondering is why you're bothering.
You realise that all blood you donate is used to try and keep people alive who would die in the wild.... under the simple but effective laws of natural selection. Those who cannot survive without help shouldn't survive at all.... Its what keeps the gene pool strong.... and by donating blood, in some small way you're helping to kill off the human gene-pool and corrupt our species as the mutations accumulate over generations.

if there is a shortage of blood like people say, i think they would rather have blood with marijuana in it than no blood at all, as long as everything else is okay with it

Nothing wrong with the blood. Why would there be? Marijuana doesn't give you hepatitis or HIV.

It's ALL still usable. Why would this contaminate it anymore than cigarette smoking?
