go get clear ornaments get a couple pic of you and your spouse ( soon to be) like an engagement pic pop off the top of the ornament and put in the picture, get metallic pen write the wedding date on the outside...I guess this would get pretty expensive unless you have a small wedding or just give these as gifts to the attendants.
You could always get candy canes and out them on the tables

I alternated my favors at my recpetion. There wasn't one left, but I had a beach/tropical them and used miniature sandcastles and chocolates in the shape of seashells.
For a December/Winter wedding try: Hershey kisses wrapped in tulle circles, very cute and quick to make. Alternate with a pretty Christmas ornament. Find the unbreakable ones from Target, K-Mart, etc. so you don't have to worry about any of them breaking. Wrap them in colored cellophane tied with curly ribbon - Cute!
I'd love to know what your colors are!
Good Luck and Have Lots of Fun!

Christmas ornaments are great. You could personalize them by buying the clear ball ones at Michaels or Hobby Lobby (with a 40% off coupon of course), buys paints to match your wedding colors, squirt a bit of each color in the opening of the ornament, swirl around the colors. Each will be unique yet go with your wedding. You could also incorporate them for your placecards if you are doing that. Have tags on each with names & tables. Either put them on a tree for your guests to find of layed out nicely on a table.

I really like the Christmas Ornament idea another person answered with. For my daughter's wedding we took the short champagne glasses and place inside a scoup of chocolate and candy covered almonds wrapped in metallic tissue paper that matched the color theme. We sat one at each place setting, along with the printed napkins, and a bottle of bubbles.

Jeez, why do you suppose that your guests need wedding favors? When are these silly expensive and dumb customs going to end?
You should be saving your money to buy a place to live, not giving useless crap to people who have no use for it?
So you spend five bucks for a champagne glass with your and your groom's names on them: what is anyone supposed to do with these, except throw them out or sell them in a yard sale several years from now for a quarter?
If it weren't for booze, huge ridiculously expensive weddings would have been a thing of the past decades ago.
Somehow, silly stuff makes more sense when one is bombed out of his/her gourd.
The only thing more useless than wedding favors are wedding planners, with their expensive nonsense and their ridiculous wedding "traditions" like the groom taking the bride's garter off with his teeth.
Have a happy wedding. May you receive a thousand toasters.

I love the Christmas Ornaments idea - some other ideas:
- christmas candies or chocolates
- shaped cookies (snowflakes, gingerbread men, etc) One wedding I attended last winter had gingerbread snowflakes with icing sugar sprinkled on top
- evergreen seedlings - there are actually companies who specialize in these! Treat each guest to a small evergreen seedling, planted in a small terracotta pot decorated to match the decor. They can then plant the seedling in spring!
- mistletoe
- fruitcake
- hot chocolate cones - who doesn't love hot chocolate in winter? Buy a gourmet hot chocolate mix, and divide into individual servings. Place each serving in a small paper cone (make them from parchement or buy them premade) Top with marshmallows, twist, and tie shut with a ribbon. Insert a small candy cane into the ribbons.
- candy canes

We had a weekend wedding and made gift boxes with goodies inside for wedding guests. We included: disposable cameras (to be returned to us filled with guests fav shots), love heart sweets, a music CD we made with our favourite music - including the wedding songs, fizzy bath bombs, chocolates and really cute tea tins with heart-shaped infusers we fount at www.beaucoup.com. Making something personal is always nice, as long as you don't have too many to make.

My wedding favors were:
Matchbooks with our names & wedding date
Bubbles (we only used these at the church)
Hershey Kisses
(for the hershey kisses and bubbles I went to a website called www.perkydesigns.com- they made lables for our bubbles AND labels that fit on the bottom of our hershey kisses)
CD's (for this I took 3 songs that were played at the reception, 3 songs I liked, 3 songs he liked and 3 songs that we both liked because we have such different musical tastes).

For my wedding we made magnets with our names and wedding date. We printed out business cards and put magnetic backing on them. You can all the stuff at your local office supply store. People seemed to like them. When my Uncle got married a year after me he did the same thing.
