All Christians don't think someone just coming into your office and sprinkle holy water around is fine. You're dealing with a fanatic, tho their intentions are probably well-meaning. That person probably thinks that he's doing you a favor, warding off evil because you don't believe in Christ. Let them know that if they do it again, you know a voodoo priestess who'll be more than happy to help you cast a spell or two to keep them out!

I would have to know a thing or two to answer your question. Although you have an office in a building, do you also own the whole building? If you do not, then you cannot dictate what is done in that building, only the owner can. And so, if they invite someone to bless the building, then it is done for the building and not you. In fact, if you do not own the whole building, then you do not even own the office you occupy. I mean if you get fired can you remain in that office or would you have to go somewhere else? If you have to go somewhere else, then you have no ownership of that office. You just work in there and occupy its space.
If, however, you do own the whole building, then why even invite someone to bless it if you do not believe in Christ and the blessings He offers?
Besides you have nothing to worry about blessings. Christ teaches us that if we are welcomed and bless others, then the blessing remains. However, if unwelcomed the blessing returns to the one who has blessed. Nothing is wasted.

Don't be rude but nicely tell them you would never go to there home or work n take it upon yourself to think it's ok to just bless someones place like that. You would appreciate being asked and then tell them not to bother asking because you would like it if they didn't do that and to not bother coming early next time because you won't allow it.Honestly though it is causeing you no harm so why be so bothered by something that would probably be a good thing and not harmful in any way.You should just let it slide unless it is done in front of you all the time and becomes annoying.

Maybe because you have not told them not to. I wouldn't want that either and I would tell them to stop if they did it to my office. I'm a Christian, but there's a time and a place for it. Maybe you should try the voodoo thing so they get the picture.

i believe in god and jesus (even though i'm not a practicing christian). I went to a catholic high school and i hated it when priests came into my class and sprinkled me with 'holy' water wetting up my uniform. so i know how u feel. i think some christians come on too forceful and instead of getting believers they drive people away. but with the good comes some bad and not all christians are like that.

I don't think it's fair to ask why "Christians" think it's ok, as this is an incident specific to a few persons. As a whole, blessing are only performed when requesting, especially those involving a domicle or a place outside the church. Holy Water blessing are also usually only performed by a Priest (at least with Catholics) although lay persons can do them, it is uncommon.
I don't think it's ok for these people to be invading your office as they are. You need to tell them to stop their behavior. But please, don't lump their inconsiderate behavior under the banner of all Christians, we are not all like that.

I would never go to somebody's office and do that, of course, I don't believe in holy water either. I pray for the people I work with though, I just don't tell them.

Most Christians wouldn't think that was okay, so don't generalize or group those "interesting" individuals you work with with all of Christianity. As a Christian I am tought to respect other people's beliefs and not push by beliefs upon them. Of course, I don't think it's wrong if they mention something to you once, but if you say you're not interested they should leave you alone. I wouldn't be offended if a vodoo master approached me and asked if I wanted to learn his skills and be a part of his vodoo circle, unless I told him no and he kept harassing me. I'd report the crazies.

Wow did someone really do this to you? If you were a VooDoo Priest and did something of this nature they would probably think you were crazy, why shouldn't you think the same of them? I think it's highly disrespectful for people to push their beliefs on others like that.

I guess it's because they feel that they have a mission to 'save' everybody. Not that I condone what they did or anything. But I've seen a lot of religious people who like to get into other peoples business, without invitation. Those are the people who really piss me off to no end.
But be glad that not all religious people are that way. Only the obsessed ones invade people's space.
