7 cervical vertebrae in the neck
12 thoracic vertebrae that articulate with the 12 pairs of ribs
5 lumbar vertebrae of the lower back

Your spine is made up of 24 vertebrae.

Each vertebra is made up of the vertebral body in the front, the facet joints in the back and the pedicles, which connect the vertebral body to the facet joints.

The human spine is divided into three sections:
1) the cervical spine or neck is made up of 7 vertebrae.
2) the thoracic spine made up of 12 vertebrae.
3) the lumbar spine or low back which consists of 5 vertebrae.

The answers above are accurate, however if you're trying to remember this for a test, the way that I remembered this, and even in the correct order when taking human anatomy is like this:

Cervical 7 - you eat breakfast at 7 (Cereal for C or cervical)
Thoracic 12 - you eat lunch at 12 (Taco Bell for T)
Lumbar 5 - you eat dinner at 5 (Lasagna or something else for L)
