Recently in my World Studies class we learned about Global Warming. We watched a whole video on article on it, I believe their isn't enough evidence. I think it's just a natural occurence. Am I stupid for not believing in Global Warming? I don't know anymore because of all this propaganda. Yes there has been a increase in temperatures and Co2 emissions. But what else can prove that Global Warming Theory is 100% real?

CO2 is 30% higher than it has been for 650,000 years. Methane is 130% greater. These are two of the main pollutants humans put into the atmosphere in excess, and they are two of the primary greenhouse gases.

Look at the 'hockeystick', which shows a dramatic warming since 1950 after a fairly stable climate for 1000 years. In fact, the 10 hottest years in recorded history have all happened since 1990, with 2005 being the hottest, and 2006 is shaping up to maybe break that record.

How's that for proof of man's fault in this? There is ample proof, any real scientist will tell you that.

There has NEVER been an article doubting man's influence on global warming published in a peer-reviewed journal. A recent study of almost 1000 proved that.

Yes, the earth naturally heats and cools, but the rate and amount we are warming now is unprecedented in the recent geologic past. We are doing this, and we must stop it. This is not some political statement or rhetoric. This is science trying to educate a crass, ignorant public of the damage they are doing. The magnitude of temperature increase ALREADY is about 10x that of the 'little ice age' of the middle ages, and rate and amount are only going up.

Just to be clear, glacial and interglacial cycles are mainly controlled by astronomical fluctuations, but we have a detailed record of the last 7 cycles, and what the climate and CO2 is doing now is way different and extreme. The rate of increase is much higher than in the past AND the value itself is much higher.

In science, nothing is ever proved 100%. There is always room for doubt. Unfortunately, a number of politicians have used this as an excuse to fiddle while Rome burns.

The scientific consensus on global warming is huge, and it is increasing. The number of scientists who accept it as real is now so large -- including many former skeptics -- and the evidence is so overwhelming, from so many sources, that only those paid by the energy industry now believe otherwise.

See this link to a report -- written, edited, and peer-reviewed by over 1000 of the world's top scientists -- that summarizes the latest evidence.

The evidence is persuasive that global temperatures are increasing. The evidence is conclusive that atmospheric CO2 levels are increasing. It does not follow, however, that the first of these propositions is caused by the second, even though there is a fairly broad consensus that this is the case. The evidence for causality is computer simulations, which are notoriously risky to rely on, as anyone trying to use a computer to predict next week's weather can tell you.

The global warming is a real and serious problem.

I would refer you to WWF living planet report issued recently on Tue. 24 Oct 2006. In this report three different scenarios have been described :

1. Business as usual scenario
2. Slow shift scenario
3. Rapid reduction scenario

The report also provide catalyzing model to the transition to sustainability.

Yes, these scenarios about ending global overshoot and footprint and bio-capacity factors that determine overshoot. But still the scenarios are apply to the global warming.

Don't consider whatever you learn and simplest one million/two of what you notice. Of direction, Global warming is truly. The final Ice age has long gone away, has it now not? So, we ought to have worldwide warming. Do persons give a contribution to worldwide warming? Probably a few small quantity, in any case we ARE Warm and we breath in oxygen and breath out CO2, we ought to be facet of the predicament. What is Al Gore going to do approximately it? Kill a complete lot of persons? Invariably that's what Socialists do after they take manage of a nation. Is that higher than destroying their economic climate and inflicting thousands to starve to loss of life?

Not in the way most people believe. What "I invented the Internet Gore" did not ever say is that the average temperature of the planet was raised more in the first half of the last century, that the last half.
The earth is cyclical, and will warm and cool all on its own. Now there are things we can do to influence it one way or another, but to the extent that we are all lead to believe.

Hi. No, you are not stupid to be skeptical. My opinion is that it is real, accelerating, and irreversible at this point. The fact that the climate changes over time IS 100% real. We just do not have proof than man's activities are a major cause...yet.
