Officially people say it's a bad idea and often it is company policy that if you do, you can be fired. However, you spend a lot of time at work and sometimes build deeper relationships there than elsewhere. Plus, work lets you meet potential dates without the pressure of a bar or other singles place.

I wouldn't automatically just say no--that's unrealistic. Consider how long you have been friends and if it would be a definite yes to date if work wasn't involved. Is the decision to date something you both feel, and is it headed for a committed relationship? I won't risk it if it is still at the "let's have fun" stage--it should be more than that to be worth taking this on.

I would say try trial dating with both of you agreeing if it doesn't work, you go back to being friends. Also, while at work, the relationship should not come into play. Don't deny it, but don't discuss it or change the way you two interact. Definitely don't play favorites with each other or show pda.

Don't do it if:
1.it's against company policy
2.if either of you have a position of authority or higher rank than the other
3. if you have a good amount of doubt about the relationship working out

You never know, it could go badly and you'll have to deal with that at work, but it could go wonderful and you find your significant other. I tend to say risk it. Good luck!

Honestly with work you should just remain friends. Imagine that you two went out on a few dates and ended up being together for awhile but then broke up. How akward would work be then? If it is a corporate position it would not be okay to date a co-worker. However, if it is a position that isn't a real serious job then go for it.

Remain friends, Never date on the job
Stay focus on your job, your job is a place to make money not a dating market. Go to lunch and have fun but don't make it serious

It is better to avoid workplace romances - too many ramifications happen if it doesn't work out. I have, however, witnessed some that worked out well, so you have to be the judge of that. Oh, yes, I have also witnessed some that ended in disaster for both patries (ended in termination, etc)

it's not a good practice just remain friends. this will cause complications when feelings become involved n the work area. u will not b able 2 function accordingly when & if u become intimate.

I did that a few months back and shyt got complicated. i think you should stay away from getting involved with someone at work...cuz if somethign happens it will affect ur work habits and you may end up wanting to quit ur job like I did

Tough call, because if you guys decide to break up, then work could get seriously full of soap opera level drama.

NEVER GET YOUR DESSERT WHERE YOU GET YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER!

In other words, never date someone at work. It leads to disaster!
