I just moved and want to babysit, but i need help advertising. How do u get your name out there to start babysitting? I love kids and am certified by red cross, i just need ideas getting my name out there. PLEASE HELP ME!! :)

Parents are ALWAYS looking for reliable sitters. Put up flyers at local churches, grocery stores, book stores, anywhere that moms go, cause they are the ones who usually call for a sitter. Word of mouth is a great way to get jobs though, most of my jobs I got through friends and neighbors. Just be careful, I'd try to keep to your own neighborhood at first, scope out the stroller set (look for moms walking with strollers), introduce yourself and let them know you are available for sitting, just make sure they know your rules (number of kids, $, etc... )

I would say on job at a time will get you noticed. You do well w/ one parent the recommend U to another. You can, also put up flyers saying you're available. One place U can advertise (but you have to ask) is in the student center of colleges around where you live. I know at my college there are always asking ppl to babysit. If U put up an ad saying you are a babysitter looking for clients you may get some business.

I took a CPR and babysitting class with the Red Cross. Then you can say you are certified which really impresses parents.

Your township may have a local directory that lists all citizens that are interested in babysitting. Get listed there if you can. All my other suggestions have been stated already =].

Start babysitting for people you know so you can get some good references.

Ask your local schools if you can put flyers on their bulletin boards. I know a lady who does that and had more kids than she can handle and now has to turn people away b/c she has so many.

Just put flyers on your neighbor's doors, or just the ones you know with children. Offer a free sitting as a trial.

If you really want to get your name out there...abuse a kid. As movie stars say - any publicity is good publicity. Just be sure not to harm the little tyke (too seriously anyway).

place ads in your neighborhood... or place free ad's in a local pennysaver/tell and sell
