You want to make sure you get a gentle exfoliater and only use them a couple of times a week because they can be harsh on the skin. My favorite exfoliater is the Thermal Fusion Exfoliating enzyme Masque from Arbonne. It's the best of both worlds. You put it on scrub it all over then you add a little water and scrub a little more this activates the heat that get the cirulation moving in your skin. Then you let it sit for a couple of minutes and rinse it off. It is amazing. If you are interested in learning more let me know.

My all time favorite is homemade exfoliaTOR (sorry, not trying to be snooty) is a lovely mixture you can knock together in five minutes:
1/4 cup brown sugar (white will do if you're out of brown)
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 a peach,peeled
a handful of almonds(optional, but it really gives it great oopmh)
Blend the peach till smooth, mix in the sugar and olive oil.If you're using the almonds, process them to a powder then combine with the other ingredients. This is edible,so don't worry if you get some in your mouth mistakenly.
Massage gently over your face, your neck or even head to toe for the glowingest skin imaginable.
Here's looking at ya!

Papaya has a natural enzyme which works very well as an exfoliator, and unless you are allergic to the fruit, it works well on all types of skin. I use just a little bit of crushed papaya, leave it on for 20 minutes or so, and mix more papaya with sugar or oatmeal for a scrub to remove it. Rinse well with warm water. Leaves skin all over the body soft and smooth.

I love the new bath line from Breezy Beach Wear. They have several exfoliating bath bars that are wonderful and smell great. BBW is un-veiling their new line, Beachy Clean this week on their website of freshly sliced bars. Here are their top exfoliators:
Oatmeal Sugar Cookie - made with real oatmeal and brown sugar for dry or sensitive skin
Island Sandbar - made with sanitized sand and mineral-rich sea algae extract (ideal for rough spots, but not the face)
Apple Cider Bar - made with real apples, cinnamon and raw sugar
Freshly squeezed lemonade bar - made with real lemons and sugar
And their salt water taffy bar - made with natural dead sea salts and vitamin E.

I love St. Ives Apricot Scrub its a really good exfoliate and plus it gentle enough to use everyday.
Or you can get those Oil of Olay Daily Scrubs you can cleanse then exfoliate your skin.. It can get pretty pricey so they usually have store brands that work good too..

BAKING SODA..........save your money!! use baking soda at least twice a week right after washing your face....put some in palm of your hand, and add a few drops of water a time until it becomes a light paste...apply to damp skin in circular motions all over your face, about 3 times..then rinse rinse rinse with COOL water and rinse some more...then dry and apply your moisturizer...have been doing this for years and your skin will always look good and at no extreme cost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like to use an Apricot Exfoliant for my face.
Go to bath and body works or some place similar for a lot of nice exfoliants.
