I was wondering if you can have two different kinds of wood furniture in a room. if the woods are not dramatically different. Is that a nono?

I've heard that it's okay as long as they're within a couple shades of each other. Style's important too, eclectic's cool, but careful they don't clash.

It will be fine as long as the are the same style and in the small color family.

I did this in my living room I bought a coffee table and entertainment center that is different from my end tables. They all have the same style just a a shade or two different from each other. I used a few darker wood accessories to help tie everything together.

depend on the wood.. Personally I like Mission Style Quartersawn White Oak, my wife is a lot more eclectic. We have obvious clashes of style. I do woodworking, and have play with different species in the same piece in terms of inlays and stuff like that. I keep coming back to simple is better. The beauty of Oak and form of Mission Style.
