Firstly, get a receipt from Toys for tots when you drop of the goods (I'm assuming this is an in-kind donation) but also draw up a list for yourself detailing what you donated and the general condition of each item. the description "One box of toys - $750" is no longer going to cut it with the IRS.

you have a Tax ID.. it's your social security number. anytime you donate, ask for a receipt - it's especially helpful if you file the long form w/deductions at the end of the year.

you can use the receipt from the toys you bought. YOu can probably look up a tax id number on the internet, on their website or on guidestar.com, a national non-profit watchdog group.
