My apartment complex was sold, and 14 families are being evicted, 2 with newborns. I want to raise seven thousand dollars so that I can give each family 500 dollars to help in finding them all a new home.

It's a HUD complex, lottsa kids, little money. I assume they all work, but it's almost Thanksgiving/Christmas, and who can come up with first, last, and deposit while trying to work and feed your children? All of the money will go to them, no payback required.

Usually the HUD people will help relocate them. Check into it before you start fundraising. Also if you don't form a non-profit status, you will have to pay income tax on any money you raise, even if you do give it away. Hope those people are ok though.

its wonderful you are trying too plasy the goos samartian here buit even if you could raise seven thousand and thats a lot of clams if these people up move and vanish how are you gonna se your chunk of change back- we are asuming you arent that blind too just say here- heres 500.00 go out and find a nother place too live. and arent these people working self supporting?? or are they elderly or what here?? the only solution we see is-- too-- take out a bank loan---- we have no idea who would be- willing too go along with this amount---- even if it were too be payed back like a loan--- the other tenats might just take itt and run-----

Perhaps you could go on a local tv channel and tell your story and ask for donations. Morning TV shows are usually looking for local human interest stories.

Write a letter to Operah she be good with those stuff or call your news affiliate they'll do anything for a story
