Your children will always be your children, no matter whether you are with the mother/father or not. Even if you have a fall out with your child, they are still your child. I therefore would say yes to having a tattoo of your children.

Parents/Grandparents - depends on what your relationship is with them. I would as I am close to all of my family, but not till they have died I think. A memorial tattoo would be nice.

Girlfriends/Boyfriends/Wives/Hubbies - Not on your life. They come and go all the time, and evne if you plan to be with them for the rest of your life, they might not. Things happen.

The name of a family member, especially for a meningful reason is fine. Kid Rock talked of how he got his cousin's name tattooed on his arm after the cousin died & said that the more time went by the prouder he became that he had done that -that sounds like it was a good reason for having a name tattoo. Personally, I wouldn't get a tattoo of my mother's name & don't have any children and my wife would prefer that I get something other than her name -so I probably won't get anyone's name as a tattoo.

I think that if anyone wants to get any name tattooed on their body, it should be their mom's name or their kids. Those names will never change. Things could end with a boyfriend or girlfriend and those names might be regretted.

I think initials are okay and some names are fine, but depending on who it is makes a difference

Ex: Getting a g/f or b/f name on your chest-not always wise. But your mother or brother passing away and you get something to honor them-that's fine as long as its tasteful.

I see people who get some ones name tattooed after their death as remembrance. I think that's fine. For me, I'd rather use symbols to show my love for someone-alive or dead.

I won't get any names on me, but if people do, they can live and learn from the good and bad that can come of it.

Tattoos are permanent, most people in your life are not. Now getting your mother, father, grandmother, grandfather's name is different these people are your blood and with you for life no matter what so, family, yes. Friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, spouses, no way!

I think it's ok to get your kids name or parents. But never a boyfriend or girlfriend. You just never know. I met my boyfriend 10 months ago. When we started dating, i had no idea he had his ex girl's name on his arm, until the first time we........u know! Well, it really bothers me alot. I told him he better get rid of it before the end of this year, or else it's over.

If you want to tattoo names it should be your mother's name and your childrens names and your own name. Your mother will always be your mother that won't change. You children will aways be your children. other then that NO. Why waste the money only to waste more to have it removed later on??
