When you fly on a commuter aircraft with a baby does the baby fly for free - do you need to purchase a ticket - if so does the little one get a seat - do they need to be in a child seat like in a car.

Generally speaking, ages 2 and under are free, and can sit on your lap. Car type seats are not required. Again it's best to check with your airline as they may have a different requirement.

I know the airline I work for babies under 2 can fly for free as long as they are on your lap. You can buy them a 1/2 price ticket if you want them to have their own seat. If they have their own seat they must be in a car seat.
