What a weird coincidence!
I just bought this delicious paté which had a picture of a dog on the front! It's really cheap and tastes great on toast, so I didn't look too deeply into it.
I think these animals may be a cynical marketing ploy to get humans to go 'awwwww'.
Paté, anyone?

I had a similar experience but the stuff tasted like the cat on the bag.... (Kinda like chicken, yeah chicken I would say)
