I despise and hold in contempt the concept of a "hyphen-American". I've never thought of myself as anything but "American", and never will. It's just wrong!

Not.......Lose the hyphen pal. Were Americans first.

And when Canada became a country, it wasn't Canada America, nor was it Mexico America, Or Brazil America.

The People who founded the U.S.A .named it the United States of America. That's why people in the U.S.A. call themselves Americans.

You're trying to play on words, and it doesn't fly.

If Mexico wants to be annexed by the U.S.A. and lose it's identity as Mexico, that's an issue that can be addressed at a later date.

desire this would not pop out stupid, yet i think of it relatively is because of the fact it relatively is complicated to distinguish between some, if no longer maximum, of the ethnic communities that originate from Europe. i do no longer understand if i will distinguish an English/Brit-American from an Australian-American, nicely perhaps until eventually I hear them communicate. much harder, in the event that they don't have an accessory. And, i ought to declare, no longer all African-human beings are from Africa. So, I relatively have been advised. yet I say i'm American. basically while on a kind they make you %. your ethnicity.

That may be true, but our ancestors came here legally. You can even look up (seriously, see the Ellis Island site--Google it) information about immigrants--where they were going to stay, age, ship on which they travelled, name, height, etc. They were DOCUMENTED. The gov't knew WHO they were and where they were going. Our ancestors didn't jump the border in order to milk u$ dry because of our generou$ $ocial program$. BIG differen$$.

I don't trust anyone who hyphenates their citizenship and loyalty to the U.S.
Just "American" will do.
