I do think he is too old for you. When I was 18 I would have said no, age doesn't matter, but now that I am in my 30s I realize how much difference there really is between 18 years old and 30 years old. It all depends on the people involved I guess as to whether it would work or not, but I would suggest that you find a guy closer to your own age. Sorry.

Well , for one there is a major misconception of what 30 "acts or looks like!! We in our thirties are people too!!!
I think age doesn't matter as long as YOU are mature...you are now 18 and supposed to be a consenting adult!!!
Find out if he has a wife or kids!!!
If he has a wife forget it!!!
If he doesn't and maybe has some kids make sure he cares for them and pays child support!!!! Being responsible for your children can tell you a lot about his character!!!
If all lights are green GO FOR IT !!!

Yes it matters. Older men always take advantage of younger women...no matter what. He shows interest because he wants an attractive women like you for one thing. You are inexperienced and he has been around the block. I have dated older men and it normally doesn't work out. And even if it does you will end up unhappy or vice verse. Your both on 2 different levels. If you just want him for 1 thing and you know what I'm talking about, then go for it. But strictly sex.

Twelve years difference is not too large a difference in some relationships but I'd say that you need to be very careful with someone that much older. He doesn't act 30? That may be another reason to be careful.

Ask him or someone who knows him, in general conversation, whether or not he prefers someone closer to his age or not.

I would say if the age difference doesn't bother you or him...then why should anyone else care. You are not a minor..just be careful being that you work together, some jobs do not like co workers dating. Also....you are still pretty young - be careful you don't get yourself into something that you are really not ready for yet. Good luck! :)

for me, age doesn't matter......i'm 19 and my bf is near 40........the age isn't the problem, but the relation between u too is. don't forget that starting a relationship with an older person, mostly at your age, is a very important decision, don't take it too lightly or get dizzy with passion and desire. it has to be true love otherwise you may regret it or you don't know what this guy could do. on my part, i'm lucky i found an amazing man who really loves and cares for me like a father. there's more than love between him and i, we complete each others eventhough we have that age difference between us. so my advise to you is to be careful and get to know that man before you decide anything.

For starters age does not matter.I am a 35 year old man whom has been with a woman that happens to be 8 years older than I am.No big deal. But,a guy who ogles an 18 year old and takes advantage of their innocence is a disgrace.DO NOT GET INVOLVED.

Not at all. Alot of people try to put too much emphasis on age nowadays. I know 50 year old men who try to act like they are still 21. The only people it should matter to are you and your guy. I you like him and he likes you, go with that and have fun. You're 18 and have alot of living to do still.

In my opinion he is to old but my aunt is 20 years younger than my uncle and they are perfectly happy. It depends on how you act around each other and if you like the person not the age.
