I think so! Look at that Haggard guy---what a hoot! A meth addict too.

Well, people do tend to be more severe with others who are so like them.

I'm not willing to say that most of them are, but I'm sure they make up a substantial chunk of the pie chart. Why else would anyone be so preoccupied by the subject?

I've noticed that several people now have called this question homophobic. Why do you think that noting that some very narrow minded homophobic people might really be gay is derisive to gay people? Do you think that's a nasty word? Do you think it's mean to say the word homosexual? It's not. That's pathetic. Gay people have every reason to hold their heads high.

What the asker is asking us to confirm is whether we've noticed that there are groups of people with very questionable opinions about homosexuality that may be reacting to their own sexuality like it's dirty, which is painfully funny, because only a sadist would pick a faith where the way they came from "God" is a cross that they must angrily pretend not to bear until they die -- and yes I have noticed.

Now will all of you get off this "what's wrong with that?" business?

Well, they say 10% of men are homosexual. That would mean there are probably a good portion, because there a ton of Christians. However, it doesn't mean they act on their urges or want to live a homosexual life. You can be homosexual and feel it is against God's teachings, and still follow other teachings in Christianity (I know plenty that do this). Just as there may be Christians who are homosexual, there are likely a lot of closeted non-Christians out there also, who for one reason or another deny the feelings. Are you one of them? Or, are you gay and like to treat people the way the gay population is often treated, in a mocking way?

100% true – studies show this to be the case (and pedophile priests are an example of what happens when someone tries to deny their sexuality). I know many people who are devout christians/republicans and have a MASSIVE amount of unanalyzed issues relating to sex and other things. As for people in the news, in addition to Haggard we have many others. Look at Foley. And the following: Christian Coalition leader Beverly Russell (incestuous relationship with his step daughter), Republican congressman and anti-gay activist Robert Bauman (sex with a 16-year-old boy he picked up at a gay bar),
Republican preacher Stephen White, who demanded a return to traditional values ($20 to a 14-year-old boy for permission to perform oral sex on him), Republican anti-gay activist Earl "Butch" Kimmerling (molested an 8-year old girl after he attempted to stop a gay couple from adopting her)

There have been studies and it turns out that while not ALL homophobes have these tendencies, many of them do. It's been theorized it's a defense mechanism against their own homosexual leanings. It's been suggested some may not even be consciously aware they have homosexual tendencies, having buried them so deeply under the homophobia.

Hmmm, I think homosexuality is sinful behavior therefore I am a closet homosexual??? Another idiotic comment by a blind as a bat liberal.

Very simple. We believe that it is immoral behavior and thus do not want it part of our society.. That along the sides of murder, theft, adultery, beastiality, etc.

Do your research and learn to be more accepting of other people's opinions. We have a right to ours too ya know!

Why do people always think this way about homosexuality??? No one says "If you're racist, you must have had an affair with a black man/woman". That's just dumb! Hatred of any kind is dumb, I don't hate GAYS, I just hate the lifestyle, and don't want my kids taught that "It's okay to be gay." I don't believe it's "okay", and it should be my job to teach my children that, just like I will teach them about religion, sex, drugs, etc.

I don't know who that Haggard guy is....I don't watch religious t.v.

You are not only wrong but offensive with your post. I am a Born Again Chrsitian, and God is against homosexuality, and i stand on the word of God.

Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

You speak such foolishness because you are afraid of God and refuse to obey Him and His word. I am praying for you.

Why is it your so mad at us for being gay?I really don't understand that.If you want to be a Christian, just repent, and stop doing what you've been doing.I repented, and stopped doing the things I repented of.Many of my sins were just as bad as yours, or any other person. If your incapable of this please don't take your weakness out on others.

No, I don't believe most are. They simply believe whatever is written in their ancient scriptures without considering whether their stance is actually moral or not. The truth is, homosexuality harms no one. To persecute someone who has caused no harm is immoral.

Either their sexuality or their way of thinking is closeted! I'm never sure which of those it is, tho.
