Does anyone remember a schools prog in the eighties about germs and importance of handwashing n dirty gertie?

I remember bits of the rhyme,

The next day dawned as next days will
To find poor Gertie proper ill.
The doctor came and shook his head
It's not a cold or chill he said
Perhaps the food you've given Gertie
Was chopped up when your hands were dirty

The doctor said, in general terms,
On your hands there's lots of germs.
Before preparing food we ought'r
Wash our hands in soapy water.

Thats all I can remember, but I would have thought that it was more like the late 60's early 70's ??

I think the voice belonged to the late Cyril Fletcher..

yeah i took that program, and now i don't have any hands. they became flippers.
